  • The primary role is to oversee the entire payroll process from start to finish, ensuring precision and timely execution of payments.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Manage payroll processing, guaranteeing accuracy and adherence to deadlines.
  2. Calculate and process payrolls using timesheets and leave forms in accordance with policies, regulations, and legislative requirements.
  3. Provide expert payroll support and advice to employees and managers on all payroll-related matters.
  4. Generate reports for salary, superannuation, annual leave, payroll tax, and accruals, as well as prepare journals in the required format.
  5. Determine payroll tax for all states and submit monthly returns.
  6. Process deductions, terminations, redundancies, and workers' compensation claims.
  7. Update and maintain the employee database.

Requirements

  • Proven experience in dedicated payroll roles with expertise in payroll processing, superannuation payments, and handling queries.
  • Excellent communication skills and a keen eye for detail.
  • A minimum of 3-4 years of payroll experience.
  • Familiarity with Micropay Meridian and Kronos software is preferred but not essential.
  • Well-developed Excel skills.
  • Experience with high-volume, end-to-end payroll processing.
  • Strong knowledge of legislative/statutory requirements, including superannuation, PAYG, tax, workers' compensation, and pay termination processes.
  • Good understanding of Modern Awards and EBAs.
