The Payroll Agency | Payroll Specialist Recruiter - 0411310118

The Payroll Agency has partnered with an organisation in the recruitment of a new Payroll Team Leader to join the team on a 12 month fixed term basis.

Due to some increased work load with on-going projects you will support the Payroll Manager with the day to day leadership and tasks of the BAU payroll team. The Payroll Manager is a great friend of mine who is an amazing person to work with

  • Oversee End-to-End Payroll Processing.
  • Supervise Payroll Staff: Lead and support payroll officers, manage workload distribution, provide training, and oversee performance.
  • Resolve Payroll Queries: Handle escalated employee and management queries regarding pay, tax, superannuation, and leave entitlements.
  • Ensure Compliance: Maintain compliance with relevant legislation including STP, superannuation guarantee, PAYG, and award interpretation.
  • Review and Approve Adjustments: Check and authorise manual calculations, terminations, redundancies, bonuses, and back pays.
  • Reporting and Reconciliation: Generate payroll reports, support month-end and year-end processes, and ensure accurate reconciliations of payroll-related GL accounts.
  • Liaise with Internal Stakeholders.
  • Drive Process Improvements: Identify and implement payroll process enhancements for accuracy, efficiency, and compliance.
  • Support the payroll project team.

In order to be considered please ensure you have a solid background in end to end processing of payroll, as well as some experience in management/team leadership.

This role could also suit a Senior Payroll Officer looking to step into a Leader role who's been indirectly managing a team and supporting the Payroll Manager with more senior duties.

In return you'll receive:

Salary of approximately $130k - $145k + Super - this is flexible for the right person.

Also, they operate Hybrid structure but you'll need to go into office a couple days a week.
