Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Creative Environment Specialist to join our team at Industrial Light & Magic. As a key member of our group, you will be responsible for creating high-quality digital environments that integrate seamlessly with plate elements.

About the Role

This is an exciting opportunity to work on a range of projects, from feature films to television shows and commercials. You will have the chance to collaborate with other artists, supervisors, and clients to bring their vision to life.

Key Responsibilities
  • Create a range of high-quality digital environments within a tight timeline and with minimal supervision.
  • Establish shaders and lighting setups that look convincing and render efficiently.
  • Source suitable reference materials for required assets.
  • Participate in rounds and attend dailies for your show and engage in creative conversations with show leads and artists from other departments.
  • Interpret and respond to client and supervisor feedback with minimal direction from your Lead.
  • Mentor more junior Artists and assist them with their shots.
  • Participate and engage with the Generalist team as a whole and contribute to our inclusive, supportive and collaborative culture.
  • Help to develop and test tools and techniques before they are rolled out to shot artists.
What We're Looking For
  • Degree and 7 years relevant professional experience.
  • Proven ability in multiple CG techniques, including modeling, texturing, shading, lighting, look development, matte painting or compositing.
  • Excellent communication and team-oriented thinking.
  • Demonstrated ability to quickly pick up new software.
  • Fluent in some or all of these software packages: Nuke, 3dsMax, Maya, Houdini Solaris and Renderman and/or Vray renderer. Comparable software experience considered.
  • Good working knowledge of specialist tools and plugins like Photoshop, Speedtree, zBrush, Substance Painter, Gaea etc.
