PhD Scholarships: Implementing a Co-Designed Exercise Intervention for Ostomates

Griffith University is seeking a highly motivated PhD candidate to join our research team in the School of Nursing and Midwifery. The successful applicant will contribute to the development and delivery of a co-designed exercise intervention for ostomates following cancer treatment.
This project is part of the Foxtrot study, a consumer-oriented project funded by the Medical Research Futures Fund. The research team is interdisciplinary, comprising clinicians and researchers from university and hospital settings.
Key Responsibilities- Contribute to the development and delivery of the exercise intervention
- Assist in the integration of the intervention with existing resources for people with stomas
- Collaborate with the research team to design and implement outcome assessment and interpretation
- Develop skills in effective consumer engagement and collaboration, and in working with vulnerable populations
To be successful in this role, you will have:
- A strong background in exercise science, allied health, nursing, public health, or medicine
- Experience or curiosity towards applications of exercise in cancer populations
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills
- A passion for improving healthcare and support for people with or surviving cancer
As a PhD candidate at Griffith University, you will have the opportunity to work with a world-leading research team, develop your skills in exercise science and cancer care, and contribute to the development of a consumer-oriented exercise intervention.
The successful applicant will receive a fully-funded scholarship, including a stipend of $33,480 (indexed) for a period of up to three years of full-time study. International applicants will also be awarded a Griffith University International Postgraduate Research Scholarship to cover tuition fees for up to three years.
