The Project Support Officer role is responsible for providing administrative support, analysis, and coordination activities to support the office of the department's Chief Information Officer (CIO) and/or Transforming Program Administration for Schools and Universities Project Senior Responsible Officer (SRO).

The key role of the Division is to support the SRO in project management and governance of a large-scale transformational project and provide alignment between technology services and department direction in policy design and program management.

Duties and Responsibilities:

Responsibilities of the APS Level 6 Project Support Officer include:

  • Providing administrative and organisational support to a team responsible for ICT services and projects delivery within specified parameters;
  • Contributing to budget processes including New Policy Proposals and costing requirements;
  • Analysis of materials to develop reports and briefs;
  • Preparation of financial and/or project monitoring, reporting, and coordination activities;
  • Engagement with internal and external stakeholders;
  • Contributing to digital strategy development;
  • Supporting the Project Board and/or other governance bodies;
  • Building effective relationships with internal and external stakeholders.

Requirements:

  • Excellent communication skills;
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills;
  • Ability to work effectively in a team environment;
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications;
  • Knowledge of project management principles and practices;
  • Previous experience in a similar role or function would be highly regarded.
