About this Role

We are seeking a skilled Senior Project Officer to drive project outcomes aligned with national security objectives in a dynamic and fast-paced environment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide high-level support across multiple initiatives, ensuring compliance with governance frameworks and policy.
  • Coordinate planning, scheduling, reporting, and risk management activities.
  • Monitor project performance and provide strategic advice to senior stakeholders.
  • Prepare briefings, reports, and documentation for internal and external audiences.
  • Liaise with stakeholders including contractors, government agencies, and industry partners.
  • Identify process improvements and support continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Assist in contract management and procurement processes in accordance with Defence rules.
About You
  • Proven experience in project management or coordination in a Defence or government environment.
  • Strong knowledge of Defence project governance and capability lifecycle.
  • Excellent organisational and communication skills, with the ability to manage competing priorities.
  • Ability to analyse complex information and provide clear recommendations.
  • High level of integrity, discretion, and commitment to working in a sensitive environment.
Requirements
  • Australian Citizenship.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a Defence Security Clearance (NV1 or above).
  • Tertiary qualifications in Project Management, Business, Public Administration, or related field.
  • Minimum 5 years' experience in a project or program support role.
Desirable Skills
  • Experience using project management tools.
  • PRINCE2, AgilePM, or PMP certification.
