Job Summary

We are seeking an accomplished Buying Specialist to join our organization. The successful candidate will be responsible for developing and executing category plans in close collaboration with cross-functional teams.

About the Role

In this position, you will work closely with suppliers to develop a range of products that meet the ongoing needs of customers. You will have a deep passion for quality products and their value to customers.

You will have valuable exposure to a vast business network and experience working with diverse stakeholders from within the organization and with external suppliers. Excellent stakeholder management, negotiation, and problem-solving skills are essential for success in this role.

Key Responsibilities

  • Work with a wide variety of stakeholders to develop and execute category plans.
  • Maintain intimate knowledge of sales and profit performance by SKU and negotiate contracts on existing and new product portfolios.
  • Deliver cost savings across respective categories without impacting quality, through better buying and collaborative work with suppliers.

Requirements

  • Previous experience in Buying, with emphasis on supplier development and procurement with food products.
  • Strong understanding of product componentry and cost makeup of goods, as well as knowledge of manufacturing processes and impact on costs.
  • Analytical skills and customer insights to make informed decisions.
  • Demonstrated ability to negotiate and influence cross-functional and external stakeholders.
  • Previous experience in compliance with supply expectation KPIs, monitoring, and acting upon KPIs to ensure supply continuity across product portfolio.
