Family Support Specialist

About the Role:

\

We are seeking a dedicated Family Support Specialist to provide safe and meaningful connections between children, young people, and their families.

\

You will facilitate family time sessions, mentor children in various settings, and maintain accurate records and reports.

\

This is a hands-on, rewarding role where you'll strengthen family relationships while supporting children's wellbeing and development.

\

Shifts are primarily between 6am and 6pm, across seven days, with flexibility for extended hours.

\

  • Duties:\
    • \
    • Facilitate safe and meaningful family time sessions for children and young people\
    • Mentor children and young people across a variety of settings\
    • Build and maintain positive, respectful relationships with families and carers\
    • Provide accurate written updates, reports, and case documentation\
    • Work collaboratively with the team to ensure consistent, high-quality support\
    • Respond to complex situations with professionalism and sound judgment\
    • Skills and Experience:\
      • \
      • Strong interpersonal and communication skills\
      • Report writing and documentation skills, with confidence using software systems\
      • Ability to work both independently and within a team\
      • Flexible and adaptable, with willingness to work non-standard hours\
      • Current NSW Working With Children Check (or willingness to obtain)\
      • NDIS Worker Screening Check (or willingness to obtain)\
      • Current Australian Driver's Licence\
      • Desirable: Qualification in Human Services, Community Services (Certificate IV/Diploma), or related field\
      • Previous experience working with children, young people, or families in care settings\
