About the Opportunity

We are seeking an experienced Safety Engineer to join our team in the Jindalee Operational Radar Network (JORN) Sustainment program. The successful candidate will be responsible for undertaking safety engineering activities, including hazard identification, assessment, and mitigation.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Manage hazards through identification, assessment, and mitigation.
  • Provide technical advice on safety engineering activities and methodologies.
  • Develop and update safety engineering artefacts, including system safety program plans, hazard analysis reports, and safety case reports.
  • Collaborate with customers, subcontractors, and internal stakeholders to maintain a positive culture within the JORN program.
  • Support the delivery of safety engineering solutions and provide recommendations for using safety engineering methodology.
About You

To be successful in this role, you will have:

  • Safety engineering experience or engineering/production experience with knowledge of safety engineering.
  • Knowledge of the engineering systems development lifecycle and safety engineering standards.
  • Good communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to develop effective relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Good problem-solving skills and the ability to produce effective technical reports.

Estimated salary: $120,000 - $150,000 per annum, based on location and experience.
