About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Business Development Consultant to join our Individual Insurance Distribution function at MLC Limited. As a Business Development Consultant, you will play a critical role in proactively engaging with advisers and building strong relationships to grow our market share in line with the company's strategic plan.

Key Responsibilities
  • Work closely with the Head of Distribution and Strategic Account Managers to develop and execute account plans, driving licensee engagement and business growth.
  • Plan and execute an 'Ideal week' in executing adviser interactions, aligning with the Individual Life Insurance strategy, including sales process, territory management, focused sprints, calendar management, and activity levels.
  • Conduct fact-finding sessions with advisers, building engagement plans based on their needs, and fostering relationships with senior management and broader business stakeholders.
  • Collaborate with internal stakeholders across MLC Limited to ensure consistency of adviser experience and drive business growth.
  • Develop and maintain a strong network of relationships, building the profile of MLC Life Insurance within the industry.
  • Adhere to CRM data input and quality management standards, ensuring accurate and up-to-date information.
  • Proactively manage ongoing professional development and enterprise mandatory training, staying up-to-date with industry trends and best practices.
About You

We are looking for a highly motivated and experienced professional with a strong background in the financial services industry, preferably in Life Insurance. You will have a deep understanding of the advice process and be able to build strong relationships with advisers and stakeholders.

You will be a natural communicator with excellent verbal, written, presentation, and influencing skills. You will have a proven track record of building rapport and providing exceptional service to clients.

You will also have:

  • Minimum RG 146 compliance
  • This is an LOA holding role, and as such, you must meet the qualification requirements to hold an LOA.
  • Higher education standards beyond a DFP, such as an ADF, bachelor's degree in financial planning, or other equivalent education, are highly desirable.
