Job Opportunity

We are seeking a Security Operations Specialist to lead our day-to-day security services, develop policies, manage and train security staff, and ensure alignment between service delivery and strategic goals.

About the Role

The successful candidate will oversee and support security personnel across shifts, deliver training, monitor key performance indicators, and provide performance feedback. They will also investigate and report on security incidents, identify and resolve complex operational challenges, recommend improvements to procedures and policy, and track and manage overtime.

Key Responsibilities

  • Team Leadership & Development:
    • Oversee and support security personnel across shifts
    • Deliver training, monitor KPIs, and provide performance feedback
    • Develop and implement clear policies and service protocols
  • Incident & Risk Management:
    • Investigate and report on security incidents
    • Identify and resolve complex operational challenges
    • Recommend improvements to procedures and policy
  • Operational Oversight:
    • Monitor rosters, resource allocation, and operational coverage
    • Manage basic service agreements with guarding and systems providers
    • Track and manage overtime

Requirements

  • Confident leader with a deep understanding of security operations and the ability to think strategically
  • Strong leadership and communication skills
  • Experience in security operations, incident reporting, and rostering
  • Certificate II in Security or PSP(R) certification
  • Valid Victorian Driver's Licence
  • Understanding of Security Operation Centres process and procedures
  • Experience working within a large culture organisation
  • High level of attention to detail and ability to handle sensitive data
  • Calm, practical, and professional in high-pressure situations
  • Ability and willingness to undergo and pass a National Police Records Check and Working with Children Check (applicant costs apply)
