About the role

We are seeking a highly experienced Security Manager to lead and manage all security operations at a premier A-grade commercial building in the Melbourne CBD. This pivotal on-site role is responsible for delivering a high-quality, professional security service, ensuring the safety of the building, its tenants, and visitors.

To thrive in this role, you will need to bring strong leadership skills, strategic thinking, and a customer-focused mindset, working closely with both the client and internal stakeholders to deliver excellence in security operations and risk management.

Key Responsibilities

As a Security Manager your core duties will include:

• Lead and manage all on-site security operations to ensure a consistent, high-quality service aligned with client expectations.

• Develop, implement, and maintain site-specific security protocols, SOPs, and emergency response plans.

• Conduct regular risk assessments, identifying threats and delivering strategies to prevent, manage, and mitigate risks.

• Oversee onboarding, training, and performance of the security team, fostering a professional and cohesive team culture.

• Manage daily operational coordination, including rosters, patrols, shift handovers, and incident response.

• Build strong relationships with stakeholders including tenants, contractors, and emergency services, ensuring clear and effective communication.

• Provide customer service excellence across the security team, ensuring all tenant and visitor interactions are professional and responsive.

• Ensure ongoing compliance with industry standards, legislation, and site-specific policies, supported by regular audits and continuous improvement initiatives.

Skills & Experience

To be successful in this role, you will possess:

• Current VIC Private Security Individual Licence (Required)

• Current First Aid and CPR certifications (Required)

• Working with Children Check (Required)

• Police Check (Required)

• At least 5 years' experience in corporate, retail, or mixed-use high-rise environments.

• Cert IV or Diploma in Security & Risk Management

• Experience managing large security teams, including training, rostering, and performance management.

• Technology Proficiency in Security & BMS systems.

• Strong understanding of emergency procedures, and risk management practices.

• Demonstrated leadership capabilities, including managing teams in dynamic, high-profile settings.

• Excellent stakeholder engagement and communication skills.

• Commitment to delivering exceptional customer service and continuous improvement.

• Ability to work autonomously and make sound decisions under pressure. Current

Security Licence and First Aid certification (or willingness to obtain).

• Knowledge of relevant legislation and industry standards.
