Settlements Officer - Equity & Capital Markets

We are seeking a knowledgeable Settlements Officer specializing in Equity & Capital Markets for a prominent national wealth management firm.

Our client is a distinguished Wealth Manager offering expert advice and investment strategies to affluent clients. They excel in Institutional Dealing, Corporate Advisory, and Research, establishing themselves as a leader in the financial sector and attracting top talent across various disciplines including research analysts, advisers, sales and trading experts, corporate financiers, and operations personnel.

The ideal candidate will be an experienced Settlements Officer who will become an integral part of the back office operations team, which comprises specialists in bookings, sponsorship, deceased estates, and money market operations.

We are in search of a professional with a solid grasp of Australian financial services, particularly regarding back-office functions related to settlements, corporate actions, and capital markets, including IPOs and placements. The successful candidate will be eager to contribute to a cohesive team that offers substantial knowledge and experience, and will be committed to a long-term career in back office operations.

Key Qualifications:
  • Familiarity with ASX operating rules and ASIC Market Integrity regulations
  • Understanding of corporate actions
  • Strong communication abilities

To thrive in this role, candidates should possess hands-on experience and a comprehensive understanding of Equity and Capital Market settlements. This encompasses:

  • Monitoring trade exceptions and providing support for equity bookings
  • Coordinating with clearer to ensure all DVP trades are matched before settlement cut-off
  • Collaborating with advisers, institutional dealers, and other teams to resolve trade discrepancies
  • Handling SRN inquiries and facilitating CHESS broker-to-broker conversions
  • Managing fees associated with SRN searches and market failures

We are looking for individuals who have extensive experience and in-depth knowledge of broking systems, processes, and deadlines.

Success in this position requires a passion for stockbroking, attention to detail, and the ability to maintain a high level of accuracy in a dynamic environment. Candidates should excel in building enduring stakeholder relationships and demonstrate the capability to work both independently and collaboratively within a team setting.
