Job Description

The role of a Federal Solutions Engineering Manager involves overseeing the pre-sales organization within the ANZ Federal Sales District. This position requires strategic thinking and collaboration with cross-functional teams to bring innovative solutions to market.

Key responsibilities include leading, coaching, and motivating a team to create a culture of high performance, collaboration, and continuous learning. The manager will also develop and provide oversight to the team's professional development, establish and monitor performance goals in collaboration with Sales Leadership, and evangelize NetApp's innovative solutions and products to Customers and Partners.

Additional responsibilities include participating in industry trade events, analyzing market trends and competitor behavior, and providing feedback to Sales Leadership and Product Management. The manager will also participate in sales campaigns, operate as a business partner to Sales, and contribute to the Leadership Team to grow business through leading initiatives beyond the scope of Presales.

The Federal Solutions Engineering Manager will be accountable for the retention of key talent and hiring and onboarding of new employees. They will keep senior management informed of key issues and changes that may impact expected business results.

Required Skills and Qualifications
  • A Bachelor of Arts or Sciences Degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or related field is required; a Graduate Degree is preferred but not essential.
  • A minimum of 8 years of experience as an individual contributor and 1 to 5 years as a people manager is required.
  • Based in Canberra and understanding of the ANZ Federal sector is a must.
  • Candidate must have Australian citizenship with security clearance (NV1 and above is preferred).
  • Experience which demonstrates a significant level of expertise in technical specifications required to sell NetApp products and services is necessary.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills, including presentation skills are required.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with employees within the department and across functions.
  • Must have an aptitude for understanding how technology products and solutions solve business problems.
