Role Overview

The Senior Case Officer plays a pivotal role in managing workers compensation claims, driving timely and sustainable return to work outcomes.

Working closely with key stakeholders, you will develop and implement claim strategies, ensuring that injured team members receive exceptional customer service and trusted advice throughout the claims process.

Key responsibilities include proactively managing claims portfolios, collaborating with cross-functional teams, and mentoring junior staff on strategic claims management practices.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Manage multiple claims portfolios within legislative, self-insurance, and business requirements across various jurisdictions.
  • Provide high-level customer service and trusted advice to injured team members regarding their claims.
  • Collaborate with key stakeholders to develop and implement claim strategies for timely and sustainable return to work.
  • Conduct claim reviews and case conferences as required.
  • Develop and coach team members on strategic claims management practices.
Requirements

To succeed in this critical role, you will need:

  • Significant experience working within a workers compensation/insurance environment.
  • Excellent knowledge of current VIC Workers Compensation Legislation.
  • Experience in negotiating return to work and rehabilitation outcomes.
  • Well-developed interpersonal and influencing skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities to meet agreed deadlines.
  • A genuine interest and passion to learn and develop new skills.
