About Us
We are a dedicated organization that specializes in supporting Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander women and their children. Our team has over 20 years of experience providing holistic, culturally safe, and specialist family violence support services. We have a state-wide reach, touching every part of Victoria to meet the needs of our community.
The Campaign
We are seeking an Event Coordinator to assist in planning and coordinating our 16 Days of Activism campaign. The successful candidate will work closely with our Manager to ensure the event is well planned and executed.
Key Responsibilities
- Plan and coordinate the event from start to finish according to requirements, target audience, and objectives.
- Develop a sponsorship prospectus, attract sponsorships, and engage with stakeholders to gain sponsorship.
- Lead promotional activities for the event.
- Maintain and update event information, including websites.
- Engage and oversee a suitable event management company to support operational delivery in the lead up to and throughout the event.
- Manage expenses within allocated funds.
- Maintain meeting calendars and ensure event planning is on track.
- Evaluate the success of the event and make recommendations for future improvement.
Requirements
To be considered for this role, applicants must have:
- A Victorian Employee Working With Children's Check card.
- A Police Check.
- A Driver's License.
- Demonstrated events management or high-level coordinator experience, and/or previous conference organization experience.
Desirable Qualities
Experience in a similar role within an Aboriginal Controlled Community Organisation, experience in fundraising for events, knowledge of marketing techniques for events, and experience in managing event budgets are highly desirable.
