Job Description:

The role of Communications Officer is a key position within our organization, focusing on improving the health of millions worldwide.

  • This experienced professional will be responsible for developing relevant communication materials, including news stories, event write-ups, and blogs, to highlight the work and impact of various programs.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Developing fresh content to showcase program achievements and outcomes.
  • Drafting and editing clear communication materials related to research projects and staff profiles.
  • Updating web content to ensure project information is current.
  • Managing website platforms, creating newsletters, and engaging in social media marketing.
  • Collaborating with project staff to develop resources for dissemination.
  • Creating project newsletters for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander communities and organizations.
  • Supporting profile elevation of the Guunu-maana (Heal) program internally and externally.
  • Assisting in the development of presentation materials.
  • Establishing databases and disseminating relevant events and news across the web and social media.

Requirements:

  • Strong understanding of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander health.
  • Knowledge of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander media environment.
  • Excellent communication skills for effective community engagement.
  • Copywriting skills.
  • Experience using social media as a professional communication tool.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills.
  • Attention to detail and adaptability in changing environments.

Desirable Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in digital media, communication, or a related field.
