Job Title: Aboriginal Health Care Advocate

Our team is seeking a skilled and dedicated individual to fill the role of Aboriginal Hospital Liaison Officer. As an advocate for Aboriginal patients in the hospital setting, you will provide flexible, holistic, and culturally sensitive health care to improve health outcomes and access to services.

The ideal candidate will possess a Certificate III qualification in Aboriginal Primary Health Care or a minimum Certificate III health qualification. They should also have demonstrated computer skills, be able to maintain patient/client records, and provide statistical data and reports as required.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Demonstrating commitment to our vision, goals, and strategies, with behaviours that align with our CORE values and CCLHD Values and behaviours charter.
  • Providing culturally appropriate health care for Aboriginal people in line with the NSW Ministry of Health - Aboriginal Health Worker Scope of Practice across all sites of the CCLHD.
  • Supporting and informing Aboriginal people and their families to ensure an understanding of clinical interventions and service delivery processes than enable informed decisions in relation to their health needs.
  • Working co-operatively within a multidisciplinary team to ensure an integrated and comprehensive approach to the provision of care to the Aboriginal Community.
