Technical Support Specialist

The purpose of this role is to provide expert technical support and coordination of technical activities at a national level. Based in Sydney, this role will primarily support local customers through installation, servicing, and breakdown support.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide installation, breakdown, and servicing support to customers
  • Support equipment with interstate travel required to support emergency breakdowns and installations
  • Visit customer sites to review production requirements and make recommendations on critical parts stocking and servicing requirements
  • Commission complex installations when requested
  • Liaise with suppliers to obtain technical information and arrange for factory representatives to visit to resolve issues
  • Assist Spare Parts Department with recommendations about type and quantity of parts to be kept in stock
  • Evaluate and follow through to completion all quality issues in a timely manner
  • Provide remote technical support to customers and technicians
Required Qualifications, Skills and Experience
  • 7-10 years experience with technical products
  • Good understanding of processes and systems
  • Reliable with a strong work ethic
  • Well organized with strong time management skills
  • Ability to think laterally and possess methodical problem-solving attributes
  • Previous exposure and proficiency with an ERP system such as SAP and MS Office preferred
