Job Opportunity:

This exciting opportunity exists for a highly skilled Laboratory Manager to oversee the daily operation of our laboratory, ensuring seamless testing requirements for clients. The successful candidate will be responsible for mentoring and coaching staff to develop their testing skills, maintaining data integrity, and adhering to lab quality systems.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Daily Laboratory Operations: Ensure smooth day-to-day operations of the laboratory;
  • Client Testing Coordination: Facilitate and coordinate daily testing requirements of clients;
  • Mentorship and Coaching: Provide guidance and support to staff to enhance their testing skills and knowledge;
  • Data Integrity and Validation: Ensure accuracy and reliability of all filed and laboratory data;
  • Laboratory Quality Systems: Implement and maintain effective lab quality systems in accordance with NATA requirements;
  • Testing and Reporting: Conduct sampling, testing, and reporting according to specifications using appropriate test methods;
  • Test Report Review: Review and approve test reports issued with NATA endorsement before issuance to clients;
  • Equipment Maintenance: Manage maintenance and calibration of laboratory equipment to ensure optimal performance;
  • Team Management: Oversee and manage staff to achieve highest operational, technical, and WHS quality standards;
Requirements:
  • Experience in testing soils, aggregate, and concrete to relevant Australian and Vic Roads standards;
  • Certificate IV in Laboratory Techniques, Diploma or Degree-qualified;
  • Knowledge of ISO/IEC 17025 requirements;
  • Understanding of WHS compliance and responsibilities;
  • Excellent problem-solving skills involving research, analysis, and evaluation of information;
  • Australian Driver's license;
  • Current or eligible Nuclear gauge license;
