Senior Program Lead for Indigenous Access Initiatives

The position of Senior Program Lead for Indigenous Access Initiatives involves leading a dynamic team in delivering programs that enhance the health and wellbeing of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander communities. This role requires collaboration with Elders, Victorian Aboriginal Community Controlled Organisations, and health stakeholders to ensure that the voices of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples shape the future of inclusive aged care.

About The Role
  • Provide leadership and mentorship to staff across Indigenous Access programs
  • Oversee the implementation of workplans aimed at strengthening services and partnerships within the aged care sector
  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander organisations, community members, and Elders
  • Contribute to culturally safe and person-centred services that meet community needs and national reform priorities
Key Responsibilities
  1. Develop and implement programs that promote the health and wellbeing of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander communities
  2. Lead a committed and culturally diverse team to deliver high-quality services and outcomes
  3. Establish and maintain effective partnerships with stakeholders to ensure the representation of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander voices
  4. Monitor and evaluate program performance to drive continuous improvement and service excellence
Required Skills and Qualifications
  • A relevant qualification in Health, Social Sciences, or a related field
  • Demonstrated experience in program leadership, particularly within Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander contexts
  • Cultural knowledge and ability to communicate sensitively with First Nations peoples
  • Experience managing stakeholder partnerships, team performance, and service delivery outcomes
  • Commitment to cultural safety, continuous improvement, and positive workplace culture
