About the Team

The Financial Planning and Analysis (FP&A) Manager is pivotal in shaping the financial direction of the organization, overseeing budgeting, forecasting, and analytical processes. This role demands a strategic mindset paired with robust analytical capabilities to deliver insights and recommendations to executive leadership for informed decision-making. The FP&A Manager will guide a team dedicated to financial planning, analysis, reporting, and business performance oversight.

Key Responsibilities

The FP&A Manager will be responsible for:

  • Assisting the Head of Financial Planning and Analysis in the annual budgeting cycle, which includes developing templates, coordinating inputs from various departments, and consolidating financial data.
  • Managing ongoing forecasts and long-term financial strategies.
  • Conducting variance analysis between actual outcomes, budgeted figures, and forecasts, emphasizing key performance drivers.
  • Preparing and presenting financial reports on a monthly, quarterly, and annual basis to senior management.
  • Evaluating financial performance, including profitability and capital expenditures.
  • Performing comprehensive analyses of business performance to identify trends, risks, and opportunities.
  • Supporting strategic business decisions through financial modeling, sensitivity analysis, and scenario planning.
  • Collaborating with department leaders and business units to understand financial requirements and provide actionable insights.
  • Advising on the financial implications of strategic initiatives, including new business ventures, cost-reduction strategies, and investment opportunities.
  • Serving as a primary contact for financial planning and analysis inquiries within the organization.
  • Continuously enhancing financial planning and analysis processes, tools, and systems to improve efficiency and accuracy.
  • Implementing best practices for budgeting, forecasting, and financial reporting.
  • Leading and developing a team of financial analysts, offering coaching, mentoring, and performance assessments.
  • Promoting a collaborative and results-driven team culture.

Qualifications

Essential qualifications include:

  • Strong analytical, commercial, and financial acumen.
  • Formal qualifications in a relevant field with CA/CPA accreditation.
  • Five to seven years of experience in a finance role within a similar industry; experience in financial services is advantageous but not mandatory.
  • Proficiency in producing, reviewing, and interpreting extensive data sets and financial models.
  • High level of commercial insight and commitment to best practices.
  • Strong self-awareness and personal effectiveness.
  • Experience with TM1/Power BI is a plus.

Relationship Management and Communication Skills

  • Ability to cultivate effective relationships.
  • Exceptional presentation skills, capable of engaging with senior leadership and influencing both internal and external stakeholders.
  • Strong team player, contributing to an inclusive team environment.
  • Ability to align closely with and support internal and external clients while maintaining integrity and independence.
