About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Financial Planning and Analysis Professional to join our team at Auto & General. As a key member of our Corporate Finance team, you will play a critical role in providing financial planning and analysis support to our business.

Key Responsibilities
  • Financial Planning and Analysis: Analyze financial data, including budgets, revenue, expenses, and cash flow, to provide insights that support business decisions.
  • Reporting and Presentations: Prepare and review reports, presentations, and other materials to communicate financial analysis results to senior management and other stakeholders.
  • Key Performance Indicators: Monitor key performance indicators and metrics, and make recommendations for improvement.
  • Financial Strategies: Provide partnering services with various teams across the business by working closely to develop and implement financial strategies that support the company's goals.
  • Forecasting and Planning: Support the Head of FP&A in the consolidation of all forecasts and the annual business plan across the entire profit and loss.
  • Financial Risk Management: Identify potential financial risks and opportunities, and provide recommendations to mitigate risks and capitalize on opportunities.
  • Business Development: Provide input into business packs and materials to prepare and inform business cases.
  • Financial Modeling: Utilize available data and manipulation software to supplement and enhance existing reporting, analyses, and processes.
  • Team Collaboration: Review work and help develop more junior members of the team.
Requirements
  • Analytical and Commercial Skills: Excellent numeric and financial literacy, demonstrable higher-level ability in reporting, a high level of problem-solving, high attention to detail, and capabilities in data analysis and statistical methods for analysis and reporting on key trends and outcomes.
  • Experience: 5+ years' experience in an analytical role in a comparable organization environment.
  • Technical Skills: Advanced Excel skills and ability to use complex formulas and visualization to present data in a clear and concise manner. Good experience and capabilities with data manipulation tools (ideally TM1, SAS, Big Query, SQL, Power BI, PowerPivot, etc.) is highly desirable.
  • Communication and Presentation Skills: Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to engage at senior levels within the organization and influence internal and external relationships to gain commitment.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Formal Qualifications: Formal qualifications in a relevant area and CA/CPA accreditation or demonstrable intent to achieve this.
  • Industry Experience: Specific experience in the Banking, Finance & Insurance and/or Technology industry and associated understanding and knowledge of the current and emerging regulatory, commercial, technology, and operational trends (highly desirable but not essential).
