We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced conservation professional to join our team as a Kimberley Regional Conservation Coordinator. This exciting role offers a unique opportunity to make a real difference in the preservation of Australia's natural environment.

As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for coordinating the operational delivery of our Gooniyandi ranger program. This involves providing strong leadership to a small team of Indigenous rangers to deliver on their annual works plan, as set by Gooniyandi traditional owners. The works plan is made up of a diverse range of cultural and natural resource management activities, including fire management, threatened and pest species management, preservation of cultural sites, on country trips with senior traditional owners, engagement with the local school and much more.

The successful candidate will have a tertiary qualification in environmental science or a related field, and/or relevant experience in environmental conservation, project management, and administration. They will also have experience working with Aboriginal communities, understanding and knowledge of Aboriginal social/cultural challenges in Northern Australia, community empowerment, training and development.

We offer a competitive market salary of $85,000 - $95,000 per annum, plus salary packing benefits, additional salary allowances, and 5 weeks' annual leave. You will also have access to ongoing learning and development programs, and the opportunity to work in one of Australia's most stunning landscapes.

Key responsibilities include supervising and coordinating the day-to-day activities of the Gooniyandi Rangers, developing and monitoring the annual work plan, ensuring effective administrative management of the Ranger program, and planning and participating in field activities to remote locations associated with completing the work plan and fee-for-service opportunities.

Desirable skills and qualifications include experience working with Indigenous land managers, rangers or IPAs, technical or trade skills relevant to the ranger program, and experience working with community development in a cross-cultural setting.
