Aussie Locums is seeking an experienced Cardiac Sonographer to join our team in the stunning Kimberley region of Western Australia. This 3-6 month locum position offers a unique opportunity to enhance your ultrasound skills while immersing yourself in remote Australia.

About the Role

As a Cardiac Sonographer, you will be working at a modern health facility in a coastal community, providing high-quality care to patients and contributing to the continuity of service for the local community. You will work alongside a dedicated nursing team and visiting cardiologists, ensuring seamless patient care.

  • Perform echocardiograms, exercise stress tests, and stress echocardiograms.
  • Conduct Holter monitoring and ambulatory blood pressure monitoring.
  • See 8-10 patients daily, including 1-2 inpatients, in a full clinic schedule (Monday to Friday).
  • Collaborate with a dedicated nursing team to provide high-quality patient care.
  • Work alongside visiting cardiologists, ensuring continuity of service for the local community.
  • Occasionally perform paediatric scans as needed.
  • Participate in remote work opportunities, travelling with the cardiologist to locations such as Kununurra, Halls Creek, Derby, and Fitzroy Crossing as required.
  • Maintain accurate patient records and reporting in accordance with facility protocols.

**Requirements and Qualifications**

  • Minimum of 5 years' experience in cardiac sonography, with demonstrated, recent experience working in remote indigenous community settings.
  • Current ASAR Registration to practice as a cardiac sonographer in Australia.
  • Valid working rights for Australia, ensuring compliance with visa and employment regulations.
  • Ability to be credentialed to WA Health standards, with support provided by our team.
  • Proficiency in performing a variety of diagnostic tests, including echocardiograms, stress tests, Holter monitoring, and ambulatory blood pressure monitoring.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills to effectively collaborate with healthcare teams and engage with diverse patient populations.
