Occupational Psychology Role

This is an exciting opportunity to join the NSW Rural Fire Service as a Strategic Workforce Psychologist. The role will focus on providing advisory, design and development of strategic initiatives to support the RFS in reducing the risk of psychological and physical harm in the workplace.

The ideal candidate will be an experienced Occupational Psychologist with the ability to support across a number of mental health strategic initiatives and programs. You will have demonstrated experience in working as part of a multi-disciplinary team, and ability to deliver best practice and strategic thinking to ensure a holistic, human-centred and evidence-informed approach to member wellbeing programs.

In this role, you will work closely with the Health & Wellbeing team to identify and mitigate psychosocial risks. You will also provide advisory services to support the development and implementation of evidenced-based strategic programs that improve member wellbeing and positively contribute to organisational health and safety performance.

You will have a deep understanding of occupational psychology principles and practices, and be able to apply this knowledge to develop and implement effective solutions to complex problems. Salary: The estimated annual salary for this role is $143,417, inclusive of base salary ($117,780 - $129,789 pa) and superannuation.

About the Role:

  • Provide advisory services to support the development and implementation of evidenced-based strategic programs that improve member wellbeing and positively contribute to organisational health and safety performance.
  • Work closely with the Health & Wellbeing team to identify and mitigate psychosocial risks.
  • Develop and implement effective solutions to complex problems related to member wellbeing and organisational health and safety performance.
  • Collaborate with internal stakeholders to promote a culture of wellbeing and inclusion.

Requirements:

  • Demonstrated experience in occupational psychology, with a strong understanding of principles and practices.
  • Ability to work as part of a multi-disciplinary team, with excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Proven track record of developing and implementing effective solutions to complex problems.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to think critically and strategically.
