Compassionate Cancer Support Specialist

We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Cancer Care Nurse to join our team in delivering high-quality care to Aboriginal and non-Aboriginal people with a cancer diagnosis.
This is an exciting opportunity for a registered nurse to work in partnership with existing staff, Aboriginal Health Services, and Primary Health Care providers to deliver comprehensive care.
The successful candidate will have the ability to build and maintain relationships with Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander peoples, communities, Elders, and Traditional Owners.
About the Role- Provide support, information, and care navigation for patients with a cancer diagnosis.
- Work collaboratively with multidisciplinary teams to develop and implement patient-centered care plans.
- Maintain accurate records and communicate effectively with patients, families, and healthcare professionals.
- Develop and maintain relationships with local Aboriginal health services and primary health care providers.
- Contribute to the development of clinical practice guidelines reflecting best practices in cancer care.
- Participate in quality improvement initiatives to enhance patient outcomes and experiences.
- Demonstrated experience working with Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander peoples.
- Current registration as a Registered Nurse with AHPRA and relevant post-registration qualifications.
- Able to critically use patient clinical information to manage and navigate care.
