
Aboriginal Health Specialist Cancer Care Role

The role of Cancer Care Nurse plays a crucial part in supporting patients with cancer diagnosis, particularly those from remote communities.
Job DescriptionThis position provides comprehensive care and support to individuals affected by cancer. The Cancer Care Nurse will work closely with multidisciplinary teams to develop and implement tailored care plans, ensuring the highest level of patient satisfaction and well-being.
The nurse will be responsible for providing guidance and education to patients and their families, addressing their concerns and anxieties, and promoting optimal health outcomes.
In this role, you will have the opportunity to make a significant impact on the lives of people living with cancer, while contributing to a collaborative team environment.
Required Skills and Qualifications- Clinical Nursing Experience: Minimum 3 years of experience working with patients with cancer
- Clinical Expertise: Ability to critically use patient clinical information to manage and navigate care, provide information and education to patients and carers, and escalate clinical concerns
- Communication and Interpersonal Skills: Strong interpersonal and communication skills to develop therapeutic relationships with patients, carers, and the multidisciplinary team
- Cultural Competence: Ability to engage and maintain positive relationships with Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander peoples
