Job Title:
Cancer Care Nurse SpecialistThis role provides cancer care support to patients, particularly focusing on remote communities within a specific health district.
- The position involves working collaboratively with existing healthcare staff and services.
- An essential aspect is building positive relationships with the Aboriginal community, including Elders and Traditional Owners.
- The nurse will provide leadership in developing clinical practice according to the McGrath Model of Care.
Key Responsibilities:
Care Provision and Support- Supporting patients and carers throughout their cancer journey.
- Providing education and information to empower patients and their families.
- Developing individualized plans to meet patient needs.
- Collaborating with healthcare professionals for comprehensive care.
- Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander descent.
- Current RN registration with relevant qualifications or at least 3 years' experience working with cancer patients.
- Demonstrated ability to practice according to professional standards and codes of conduct.
- Ability to engage positively with the Aboriginal community.
- Critical thinking skills to manage patient care and navigate complex situations.
