A cancer care professional is needed to work with Aboriginal and non-Aboriginal people in remote communities.
The role requires collaboration with existing health services staff, Aboriginal Health Services, and Primary Health Care providers.
- This position will provide support, information, and care navigation for individuals with a cancer diagnosis.
- The successful candidate must be able to build and maintain positive relationships with Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander peoples, communities, Elders, and Traditional Owners.
- Work collaboratively with multidisciplinary teams to develop and implement care plans for patients with cancer.
- Provide education and support to patients, families, and carers about cancer treatment options, disease management, and wellness strategies.
- Maintain accurate records of patient interactions, including progress notes, medication lists, and laboratory results.
- Current registration as a Registered Nurse with AHPRA.
- Demonstrated ability to practice according to RN Standards of Practice, Code of Ethics for Nurses, and Code of Professional Conduct for Nurses (NMBA).
- Ability to engage and maintain positive relationships with Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander peoples.
