Indigenous Content Specialist

We are seeking an experienced and passionate Indigenous Standards Editor to join our team at SBS Australia. As a key member of our editorial team, you will play a critical role in ensuring that our content accurately represents and respects the cultures and perspectives of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples.
The successful candidate will have a deep understanding of Indigenous cultures and protocols, as well as excellent editorial and research skills. You will be responsible for maintaining the Indigenous Editorial hub on SBS's intranet, ensuring that all content teams have the necessary guidance and advice to produce Indigenous stories in a meaningful way.
You will work closely with our National Indigenous Affairs Editor and key First Nations editorial leads to develop editorial guides for key First Nations events, anniversaries, and significant coverage. You will also be responsible for championing the NACA ERAP deliverables to ensure that SBS News and Current Affairs includes diverse First Nations stories and perspectives in the daily rundown.

About YouWe are looking for someone who has:
- 5+ years' experience in research, media, or journalism in a professional environment.
- Advanced PC and digital skills in Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook (Email), and simple non-linear editing.
- High-level organisational skills and a demonstrated ability to undertake research and analyse information to determine priorities.
- Awareness of and sensitivity to cultural protocols and First Nations issues.
- Demonstrated high-level collaboration skills and teamwork.
