We are seeking a skilled Therapeutic Support Specialist to provide trauma-informed therapeutic interventions and counseling to children and young people impacted by family violence in Karratha.

The Role:

  • You will be responsible for delivering evidence-based, trauma-informed therapeutic interventions and counselling to children and young people who have experienced family and domestic violence.
  • You will provide counseling sessions, group work, and secondary support to non-offending parents or caregivers.
  • Your focus will be on strengthening attachment, addressing trauma impacts on child development, and providing referrals to support agencies.

Requirements:

  • Degree in Psychology, Social Work, Counselling, or related field is required.
  • Membership and registration with a relevant accredited peak body (AASW, APS, ACA) is necessary.
  • Experience working with children and young people affected by trauma and domestic violence is essential.
  • A strong understanding of trauma-informed care and therapeutic practices is necessary.
  • A current Working with Children Check (WWCC) is required.
  • Eligibility to work in Australia is necessary. Sponsorship is not available.
