Fabrication Specialist

We are seeking a highly skilled Fabrication Specialist to join our team in the newly established Metso Karratha Service Centre.

• Ensure all safety protocols and procedures have been completed prior to undertaking any tasks
• Mark out/off structural fabrication and shapes according to specifications
• Prepare material for bending, drilling or machining
• Assemble and weld parts according to technical engineering drawings and route sheets
• Repair, replace, modify and fabricate using appropriate tools and welding techniques
• Perform high-quality welding to carry out the job
• Operate hand tools and power tools appropriate to the job
• Draw and interpret sketches appropriate to the job
• Operate forklift/crane when required to shift and load equipment
• Assist in the provision of on-the-job training when required
• Dismantle, replace and assemble engineering components during general fabrication activities
• Conduct quality inspections at 3rd party vendors, ensuring all Repairs/project works are to Metso standards, liaising with Engineering and product support as necessary

• Trade Certificate in Boilermaking
• Strong attention to detail and analytical skills
• Ability to work in confined spaces
• Ability to read and interpret documents, such as safety rules, operating instructions, technical drawings and procedure manuals
• Ability to write routine reports and correspondence
• Basic knowledge of algebra and geometry principles
• Ability to complete weld test FCAW
