Teachers at St John Paul II College are offered structured professional learning opportunities, focusing on delivering an excellent education through the implementation of the Science of Learning as expressed through Catholic Education Canberra and Goulburn's 'Catalyst' program.
Recent Changes to Our TimetableWe have recently made changes to our timetable, increasing explicit teaching time and focusing on routines to maximise student engagement. Staff are located in Faculty-based staffrooms to promote a focus on delivering quality teaching and learning programs.
All staff have access to Flourish, a system-wide dedicated People Wellbeing Program offering in-time support.

About the RoleWe are seeking a dynamic and committed person to join our community as an English teacher, commencing in Semester One.
As an English teacher at St John Paul II College, you will work with leaders in the pursuit of excellence in teaching and learning, including content knowledge, teaching methodologies, classroom management, assessment, and reporting within your subject area.
You will also support student wellbeing by creating safe and inclusive learning environments where all students can flourish.
Key Responsibilities- Create a learning environment that stimulates learning, promotes excellence, and acknowledges the needs of students to be both challenged and supported.
- Use a variety of teaching and learning techniques to meet individual needs.
- Provide timely and useful feedback about completed assessment items for students.
- Communicate clearly, respectfully, and professionally to optimise each student's development.
- Plan, prepare, record, and evaluate work to be undertaken by classes.
- Communicate with parents in written reports and parent-teach interviews, and at other times as required.
- Help enable the best use of shared resources.
- Work with colleagues to review and develop the curriculum and write course documents.
- Undertake regular professional development, such as reading and attending courses, for personal knowledge and skills development.

We are looking for a highly effective communicator and interpersonal skills expert who can engage positively with colleagues, students, and parents.
The successful candidate will have a strong understanding of the Australian Curriculum and be able to design and deliver effective teaching and learning programs.
They will also have the capacity to be a proactive member of a professional learning community, complying with legal, administrative, and professional requirements.
QualificationsTo be eligible for this role, applicants must hold a Bachelor of Teaching or Master in Teaching qualification, Working with Vulnerable People (WWVP) and/or Working with Children's Check (WWCC) registrations, and Teaching Quality Institute (TQI) registration and/or NSW Education Standards Authority (NESA) accreditation.
