Your primary role as a Security Sales Business Development Manager will be responsible for prospecting and winning new business opportunities within your sales territory.

To support our ambitious business growth strategy within Security Systems Installation, we are seeking an experienced Security BDM to join our Security sales team.

This state-based role reports directly to the Director Government & Defence.

You will be responsible for developing and establishing new business relationships with prospective commercial security customers, key influencers, designated vertical market targets, and strengthening our existing customer base.

Your responsibilities include driving the first phases of a sales process from initial contact through qualification, costing, quotation/pricing, negotiation, and closing the sale.

The position requires consistently achieving budgeted Security System Installation monthly/quarterly/annual sales for secured bookings and margin.

Key responsibilities also include:

  • Business development activities to establish a solid pipeline to deliver consistent monthly/quarterly/annual sales budgets
  • Spend at least 70% of your time in the field prospecting, quoting, and closing new business
  • Report weekly sales pipeline, weekly forecasts, and activity through Salesforce

When required, assist with the preparation and response to complex tender responses, delivering quotes as necessary.

Target new accounts through tender responses and cold calling to maximise secured bookings and gross margin.

Ensure best-in-class customer service by assisting with liaison and follow-up of customers as needed.

Undertake face-to-face presentations to clients for specific service and product offerings.

Develop and deliver personal performance KPIs annually.

Licenses:

  • Must hold a current security license
  • Possibly hold an NV1 clearance or obtain one (applicable only to Australian citizens)
  • Must possess a valid driver's license

Qualifications and Experience Requirements:

Minimum 5 years' experience within the Australian security industry including but not limited to security sales experience.

Ideal candidate would preferably hold certifications in Gallagher, Lenel, Milestone, Genetec, Inner-range, and C-CURE.

Tertiary qualifications preferred: Electrical or Electronics Engineering.

Advanced Microsoft and Salesforce skills.

A strong track record within a security integration business and ability to develop a Bill of Materials, costings, and quotations for installation projects up to approximately AUD$1m.

Knowledge of security solutions, Access Control, CCTV, and Alarm solutions – ability to manage complex design and quotation processes.

Experienced and proven track record in sales and security customer service outcomes.

Strong network within the commercial security industry.

High level of computer literacy, including MS Word, MS Excel, and Salesforce.

A valid driving license and security license are mandatory.

If working within the Defence or Government verticals, an AGSVA Australian Government Security Clearance (NV1 minimum) or the ability to obtain this clearance is essential.

Act with urgency and consistently deliver excellent Customer outcome with a 'can-do' attitude.

Demonstrate exceptional written and verbal communication skills with the ability to work independently or within a team environment.

Salary: $AUD120,000 - $AUD150,000 per year, depending on experience.
