Food Service Supervisor

Job Summary:

A key role in the food service department, this position supports the Manager on duty to maintain high standards and levels of customer service.

  • Supervises multiple food service units, ensuring smooth operations.
  • Coordinates menu item production, cash readings, staff management, and schedules working hours.
  • Assists with labour relation issues, tracks sales revenue, labour, and food costs.
  • Communicates effectively with patrons, resolving their issues promptly.
  • Ensures compliance with health and safety regulations, conducting regular workplace inspections and WHMIS training.
  • Guarantees Hazard Analysis and Critical Control Point (HACCP) standards are followed in food preparation processes.

Qualifications:

  • At least one year of experience in a senior management role within the food industry.
  • FoodSafe Level 1 Certification is required.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of health and safety protocols.
  • Familiarity with food service catering.
  • Strong supervisory skills and ability to motivate staff.
  • Experience in employee relations, preferably in a unionized environment.
  • Excellent customer service and communication skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications.
