Community Engagement Manager

This is an exciting opportunity to join our dynamic team as a Community Engagement Manager.

Hume City is one of Australia's fastest growing and culturally diverse councils, putting the customer and community at the centre of all that we do.

The Hume Libraries are a contemporary library service, located on the northern fringes of Melbourne.

Data from the 2021 Census showed that 155 languages are spoken in Hume City, with almost 49% of the population speaking a language other than English.

Main Responsibilities:
  • Develop and deliver innovative online engagement strategies to increase library membership and drive interaction and awareness of services
  • Liaise with external designers and the central Communications team to ensure support in the effective delivery of promotional activities
  • Manage digital channels, including website, social media, events calendar and e-newsletters
  • Graphic design of branded print and digital collateral for library activities, events, programs, reports and collections using Adobe software
  • Drive enhanced community engagement by increasing set benchmarks
  • Liaise with programs and collections teams to develop and distribute promotional materials to the community
  • Plan and distribute member attraction, promotional and event materials to key locations for maximum visibility
Key Skills and Qualifications:
  • Demonstrated experience in creating unique content for social media and ability to utilise analytic tools
  • High level of proficiency in Microsoft Office and Adobe software
  • Able to write, proof and edit engaging content for websites, newsletters and brochures
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment and positively contribute to the team
Qualifications:
  • Degree or Diploma in Marketing, Communication, Advertising or Media studies, or lesser formal qualifications with relevant experience in a similar role
