About the Role:

The Engagement and Events Coordinator will play a pivotal role in driving community engagement, collaborating with stakeholders and supporting Indigenous initiatives.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop Community Strategies: Contribute to AFSE's strategy, promoting events to stakeholders and community members.
  • Coordinate Hub Engagement: Serve as the key point of contact for space management, bookings, and user support within the hub.
  • Organise Meaningful Events: Collaborate with stakeholders to develop events showcasing work and program impact.
  • Support Indigenous Initiatives: Engage in events celebrating Indigenous communities and contribute to advancing targets set in the Murmuk Djerring Indigenous Strategy.

Your Skills and Qualifications:

  • Culturally aware professional with strong event coordination skills and excellent communication abilities.
  • Degree in relevant field with experience in event management or community engagement.
  • Demonstrated knowledge and lived experience of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander, Māori and/or Pacific Island communities and cultures.
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, with experience in content creation and strategy implementation.
  • Ability to develop engaging content for diverse audiences.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to work effectively in a team environment.
  • Strong creative thinking and problem-solving abilities.
