Job Description

This is an exciting opportunity to shape the future of workforce capability for a Tier 2 construction company with operations in New South Wales and Victoria.

The successful candidate will lead leadership development programs, skill competency matrix, skill gap management, assist with the ongoing evaluation of onboarding and induction programs, and support the graduate and cadet programs targeting all stages of the employee journey.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design and implement the Learning and Development strategy aligned with business goals, with a focus on in-person leadership development programs;
  • Partner with site leaders and internal stakeholders to conduct a training needs analysis and identify key development priorities;
  • Lead the development, facilitation, and continuous improvement of internal leadership programs and external training pathways;
  • Coordinate assistance with site inductions and onboarding program;
  • Oversee Graduate and Cadet development programs to ensure successful learning journeys;
  • Manage vendor relationships with external training providers;
  • Measure and report on the impact of L&D objectives and initiatives with a focus on continuous improvement; and
  • Occasional travel to work sites to deliver L&D initiatives.

Required Skills and Qualifications

We are seeking a dynamic L&D professional who brings both strategic thinking and hands-on capability development experience.

The ideal candidate will have:

  • Previous experience in Learning & Development;
  • Ideal experience working in construction or similar blue collar environment;
  • Proven capabilities in designing and delivering blended learning programs;
  • Strong stakeholder engagement skills and ideally some facilitation experience – from front-line teams to senior leaders;
  • Someone who is self-directed and capable of working autonomously as required; and
  • Flexibility and willingness to travel occasionally across work sites.
