Job Description

The State of Queensland is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Director to lead the K-10 Curriculum and Assessment Branch. The successful candidate will be responsible for providing strategic leadership, direction, and management of the branch, ensuring the effective implementation of K-10 curriculum and assessment policies and strategies.

Key Responsibilities
  • Strategic Leadership: Provide visionary leadership to the K-10 Curriculum and Assessment Branch, shaping the future of curriculum and assessment in Queensland.
  • Policy Development: Develop, interpret, and implement state-wide policies and processes related to K-10 curriculum and assessment, ensuring alignment with organizational goals and objectives.
  • Stakeholder Engagement: Foster effective partnerships with schools, external partners, and stakeholders to promote the implementation of K-10 curriculum and assessment policies and strategies.
  • Project Management: Lead significant educational projects within the K-10 Curriculum and Assessment Branch, ensuring timely and effective delivery of outcomes.
  • Assessment and Moderation: Provide expert advice on assessment and moderation processes, ensuring consistency and quality in the evaluation of student learning.
  • Communication and Reporting: Prepare and present submissions, policy responses, speeches, and briefings to stakeholders, ensuring clear and effective communication of organizational goals and objectives.
Requirements
  • Leadership and Management: Proven experience in leading and managing teams, with a strong track record of achieving results and delivering outcomes.
  • Curriculum and Assessment Expertise: In-depth knowledge of K-10 curriculum and assessment policies and strategies, with expertise in curriculum design, implementation, and evaluation.
  • Communication and Interpersonal Skills: Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build and maintain effective relationships with stakeholders.
  • Strategic Thinking: Ability to think strategically, with a strong understanding of organizational goals and objectives, and the ability to develop and implement plans to achieve them.
