The successful candidate will be responsible for developing and executing a comprehensive strategy for the Australian market, encompassing:

  • Establishing strong relationships with global, regional, and local brokers to drive business growth.
  • Building and developing a local team, starting with underwriters.
  • Implementing a scalable operating model in Australia that can effectively facilitate further expansion plans in Australia/New Zealand and potentially the broader APAC region.
  • Representing Munich Re Specialty - Global Markets in Australia as a trusted ambassador.
  • Driving business growth to meet strategic objectives.

The role requires overall responsibility for establishing and growing Munich Re Specialty - Global Markets' presence in the Australian market, ensuring effective underwriting teams support and comply with the business plan for Australia, and that Lines of Business are profitably underwritten.

To achieve this, the successful candidate will work collaboratively with other entities of the Munich Re Group operating in Australia.
