Senior Hospital Scientist in Charge of Section Job Description

We are seeking a skilled professional to lead the Virology Section in our laboratory. As Senior Hospital Scientist in Charge of Section, you will oversee the management of scientific, technical and support staff, testing and associated activities and logistics for the section.

This is a challenging role that requires excellent leadership skills, customer focus and strong communication abilities. You will be responsible for ensuring the quality, cost and operational integrity of the section, as well as regulatory compliance and accreditation of laboratory services.

Responsibilities
  • Manage scientific, technical and support staff
  • Oversee testing and associated activities and logistics
  • Evaluate quality control systems and data analysis
  • Develop and implement new virological diagnostic assays or processes
Requirements
  • Bachelor Degree or higher degree in Science/Medical Laboratory Science or an equivalent qualification
  • Customer focused approach displaying well-developed interpersonal skills and good oral and written communication skills
  • Demonstrated understanding and knowledge of accreditation frameworks, relevant standards and quality systems
  • Advanced knowledge of Pathology Laboratory Information Systems including supervision of e-based Quality Management Systems
