Academic Sessional Opportunity in Nursing Education

About the Role
The University of Notre Dame Australia is seeking experienced academics or clinicians with a passion for teaching to fill an academic sessional position in our School of Nursing and Midwifery. As an academic sessional, you will play a key role in delivering high-quality education to our students, contributing to the teaching program, and ensuring the success of our undergraduate nursing program.
Key Responsibilities:
- Prepare and deliver lectures, theoretical tutorials, and/or simulation laboratories to the standard of the Faculty
- Consult with students on readings, weekly topics, and assessment activities
- Mark and provide feedback on assessment activities as set out by the Course Coordinator/Program Coordinator
- Attend meetings as required by the Course Coordinator/Program Coordinator
- Manage short-term extension requests in line with University policy
- Identify students at risk through thorough tutorial attendance recording
Required Skills and Qualifications
To be successful in this role, you will need:
- A Bachelor of Nursing or equivalent qualification
- Registration as a Registered Nurse (Div. 1) in Australia
- Postgraduate qualifications in Nursing or Education are desirable
- Knowledge and understanding of current scholarship and/or professional practice in the relevant discipline
- Demonstrated ability to deal effectively with individuals from diverse backgrounds
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
- Proven ability to assess priority of tasks, manage workload, and meet deadlines in a busy education environment
