Job DescriptionThis academic sessional position offers an exciting opportunity for passionate educators to join our team as teaching and mentorship professionals. As a sessional academic tutor, you will be responsible for conducting tutorials, facilitating discussions, and providing feedback to students in the Tertiary Pathway Program (TPP).
Your primary responsibilities will include:
- Conducting teaching to the standard of the Pathways programs, including preparation for tutorials and facilitating discussions to enhance student engagement.
- Consulting with students in relation to pre-tutorial tasks, weekly topics, and upcoming assessments.
- Participating in assessment activities, including marking, moderation, and providing feedback to students within prescribed timeframes.
- Complying with policies and procedures in all aspects of your work and conduct, particularly the Staff Code of Conduct.
- Undertaking Professional Development as arranged by the National Director of the Program.
To be successful in this role, you will need to demonstrate:
- Suitability to support the objects of Notre Dame as a Catholic University.
- A Master's degree and experience in teaching in university pathway programs.
- Ability to teach small tutorial groups and engage students in their learning.
- Ability to deliver quality learning and teaching practices in multiple modes, including online delivery.
- Evidence of a high level of pastoral care to students.
This position offers a competitive salary range of $70,000 - $90,000 per annum, commensurate with experience and qualifications. In addition, you will have the opportunity to work in a dynamic and supportive environment, with access to professional development opportunities and a comprehensive benefits package.
