Academic Sessional Educator, School of Education

We are seeking experienced academics with a passion for teaching to join our team as sessional academic staff. The successful candidate will have expertise in one or more of the following areas: Health and Physical Education, Primary Teaching, Science, Practicum Supervision, Secondary Teacher Education, or postgraduate study in education.
Key Responsibilities- Conduct tutorials/lectures to the standard of the School, preparing lesson plans and facilitating informed group discussions.
- Consult with students on readings, weekly topics, and assessments.
- Assist with assessment administration, including marking, entering results, and providing feedback.
- Attend meetings as required by the Course Coordinator/Program Coordinator.
- Identify students at risk through thorough tutorial attendance recording.
- You must be supportive of the Objects of Notre Dame as a Catholic University.
- A minimum of an undergraduate qualification is required, along with prior teaching experience at the tertiary level and sound understanding of pedagogical and/or adult learning principles.
- Demonstrated ability to deal effectively with individuals from diverse backgrounds is essential.
- Ability to deliver quality learning and teaching practices in multiple modes, including online delivery.
- Demonstrated ability in developing resources, curriculum documents, and assessment tasks.
- Ability to incorporate technology into teaching and learning.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, including ability to foster high levels of collegiality and empathy with students.
- Proven ability to assess priority of tasks, manage workload, and meet deadlines in a busy education environment.
Estimated Salary: AU$80,000 - AU$120,000 per annum, depending on qualifications and experience.
