Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Investigations Officer to join our team in the Queensland Government. As a Senior Investigations Officer, you will be responsible for leading complex investigations into health service complaints against health services and health practitioners in Queensland.

Key Responsibilities
  • Investigation Planning and Execution: Develop and implement effective investigation plans to ensure all available evidence is identified and sourced in an appropriate manner.
  • Briefing and Reporting: Prepare and submit high-quality briefs-of-evidence and investigation reports with recommendations regarding the prosecution of health service providers.
  • Stakeholder Management: Work collaboratively with representatives within the organisation to establish strategic stakeholder management with key officers within the wider healthcare setting.
  • Risk Identification and Management: Work collaboratively with staff within the organisation to achieve timely identification and particularisation of risk and brief the Health Ombudsman regarding potential high-risk matters.
  • Staff Development and Coaching: Assist the Principal Investigations Officer in the implementation of systems and processes, mentoring and coaching staff to ensure effective case management and development of staff skills.
Requirements
  • Applications will remain current for a period of up to 12 months and may be considered for other vacancies (identical or similar).
  • Appointments are subject to criminal history checks in accordance with section 52 of the Public Sector Act 2022.
  • Prior to appointment, current and previous public sector employees are required to disclose any history of serious disciplinary action in accordance with section 71 of the Public Sector Act 2022.
  • All employees are required to disclose any interests that conflict, may conflict, or may be perceived to conflict with the discharge of their duties in accordance with section 182 of the Public Sector Act 2022.
