Lead Investigator

Role Summary:
The Queensland Government is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Lead Investigator to join our team. As a key member of our organization, you will be responsible for conducting thorough and timely investigations into complex and sensitive allegations of corrupt conduct and staff misconduct.
Key Responsibilities:
- Investigation Management: Manage an investigative workload and undertake and lead investigations, producing high-quality, reliable, and detailed investigation reports that contain well-developed and logical conclusions.
- Corruption Prevention: Contribute to the reduction of instances of corrupt conduct and misconduct by critically assessing the circumstances surrounding identified corrupt conduct and misconduct, identifying deficiencies in process, procedure, or systems, and developing realistic and value-adding systemic recommendations.
- Advice and Guidance: Provide advice, support, and guidance to managers and supervisors on corruption prevention strategies and incidents involving corrupt conduct and conduct categorized within the CaPE framework, enhancing the region's capacity to deal effectively with such issues.
- Policy and Procedure Development: Recommend improvements to Commission policies, procedures, and administrative practices, and where appropriate, assist in the implementation of recommendations.
- Training and Education: Develop and deliver training and education programs in support of these improvements and recommendations.
- Project Participation: Participate in projects and other activities to improve administrative practices in the Commission.
- External Liaison: Engage and liaise with external agencies necessary in the investigation and management of customer complaints and employee conduct matters, including the Office of the Queensland Ombudsman and the Crime and Corruption Commission.
- Public Interest Disclosures: Effectively manage public interest disclosures submitted under the Public Interest Disclosure Act 2010 in accordance with legislation, standards, and departmental policies and procedures.
- Other Duties: Perform other duties as required.
Requirements:
To be successful in this role, you will need to have a strong background in investigation and a proven track record of conducting thorough and timely investigations. You will also need to have excellent communication and interpersonal skills, as well as the ability to work effectively in a team environment.
