High Hazard Property Underwriting Manager

We are seeking an experienced High Hazard Property Underwriting Manager to join our team at Suncorp Group. As a key member of our underwriting team, you will be responsible for the execution, strategy, and financial performance of our High Hazard Property product.
Key Responsibilities- Develop and Execute Underwriting Strategy: Develop, deliver, and execute a cohesive underwriting plan and service/value proposition to our intermediaries through the execution of the High Hazard Property product strategy.
- Emphasize Solution-Oriented Underwriting: Excel in customer service fundamentals, standardize underwriting practices across the national team, and implement processes to accurately evaluate and manage opportunities.
- Deliver and Improve Product Strategies: Deliver, and continually improve, the High Hazard Property product strategies, including target markets/key brokers, product differentiation, appetite, underwriting execution strategy, risk engineering, reinsurance, technology, etc.
- Build Market Awareness and Strengthen Broker Relationships: Work closely with Distribution to build VSL/High Hazard Property market awareness and strengthen broker relationships to ensure a seamless experience for our intermediaries and mutual clients.
- Execute Go-to-Market Proposition and Distribution Strategy: Execute on the go-to-market proposition and distribution strategy for High Hazard Property focusing on existing partners and those with the highest growth potential.
- Develop and Deliver Comprehensive Product Training: Develop and deliver comprehensive product training to key broker partners, supported by detailed risk appetite statements, loss bulletins, and other educational materials.
- Minimum 8 Years Commercial Experience in Insurance: Minimum 8 years of commercial experience in insurance, with a strong understanding of portfolio, underwriting, reinsurance, and pricing practices.
- Demonstrated Knowledge and Skills: Demonstrated knowledge of the general insurance industry, an understanding of the external marketplace when delivering to customers and brokers, and the ability to drive accountability and commitment to the achievement of goals.
