About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Property Underwriter to join our Commercial Insurance team at Suncorp. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for performing day-to-day operational underwriting functions, including the underwriting and negotiating of individual policy renewals, new business, and mid-term policy adjustments.

Key Responsibilities
  • Underwriting and Risk Management: Assess and manage risks associated with commercial property insurance, ensuring that policies are underwritten in accordance with our company's appetite and Delegated Underwriting Authority (DUA).
  • Customer Service and Relationship Building: Develop and maintain strong relationships with brokers, clients, and other stakeholders, providing exceptional customer service and support.
  • Collaboration and Communication: Work closely with colleagues across teams to identify opportunities for growth and improvement, and to remove blockages to performance.
  • Product Knowledge and Market Trends: Stay up-to-date with market trends and product developments, providing valuable feedback to the team on technical product matters.
Requirements
  • Experience: Minimum of 5 years of property underwriting experience, with a strong understanding of commercial insurance products and market trends.
  • Skills: Advanced underwriting skills, with the ability to influence in the commercial broker insurance market and achieve mutually beneficial outcomes.
  • Industry Knowledge: Active member and involvement in relevant industry groups, with a strong understanding of reinsurance structures and customer segments.
