Job Description

We are seeking a talented Cloud Policy Advocate to drive policy advocacy strategy and represent AWS across Australia and New Zealand (ANZ) before government, policymakers, and regulators in the energy and sustainability sectors. The successful candidate will be responsible for advocating for favorable policies and regulations to promote AWS' business interests in these areas. This includes driving policy strategy and advocacy beneficial to AWS in all areas related to our consumption of energy to power our data centers and provide services to customers, as well as promoting our use of renewable energy and energy-efficient data centers.

The ideal candidate will have 10+ years of experience representing a large company or association in the technology or cloud infrastructure industry, with significant experience running public policy and/or regulatory advocacy efforts. They will possess a strong understanding of the Australian and New Zealand energy and sustainability policy landscapes, as well as excellent written and spoken communication skills. Ability to work independently and maintain high personal levels of ethical conduct, confidentiality, and integrity is essential.

Key Responsibilities

• Drive policy strategy and advocacy beneficial to AWS in all areas related to our consumption of energy to power our data centers and provide services to customers.
• Promote our use of renewable energy and energy-efficient data centers.
• Develop and implement effective advocacy strategies to promote AWS' business interests in the energy and sustainability sectors.
• Build and foster relationships with key stakeholders, including government officials, policymakers, and industry leaders.

Requirements

• Fluent written and spoken English.

Salary

The estimated annual salary for this position is $120,000 - $180,000 AUD, depending on experience.
